Due to the hand-forged nature of our carbon steel cookware and with each piece being slightly unique, we do not have a custom fitting lid for our Oval Roaster.
When properly heated on your stovetop carbon steel does not warp. On smaller stoves, we recommend gradually bringing your roaster to temperature to ensure even heat distribution.
The Oval Roaster is at home on your stovetop just as readily as it is in your oven. Take it outside and use it on the grill or better yet the campfire as well!
Love this roaster and the craftsmanship that went into it. Very light and seasoned well, it is used to cook in a wood fired pizza oven. First dish was Branzino seared on one side and roasted on the other. No hotspots and is a beautiful (if not hot) addition to the table for serving.
This was a gift to my son. He has other pieces from Smithey, and he was thrilled to receive this roasting pan. He immediately put it to the test and roasted vegetables both on the grill and gas stove.

I love this roaster. The dimples from the smith literally hammering this into shape easily make this the most unique piece of cookware I own. I went for roasted broccoli and cauliflower on the first round and then immediately threw a whole chicken in the pan for round two. I could not be happier with how it performed in the oven and the presentation on the table is unbeatable. We just upgraded some kitchen appliances and now have a gas range with the oval burner in the middle and I'm excited to use this pan on the stovetop as well.
